Welcome back for another episode of The Ramp. It. Up! Podcast. Unfortunately I was out of commission for a couple weeks and was even hospitalized because of a really bad urinary tract infection. I'm much better now thanks to the quick actions of my sister and nephew, the hospital staff, and my home health agency. Now I'm back and we are going to talk about my recent bout with Autonomic Dysreflexia.
In this episode we are going to talk about what that is, symptoms of AD, how to deal with it and how best to avoid it. We will also talk about the dreaded Coronavirus and what you need to know about it.

Autonomic dysreflexia (AD), also known as hyperreflexia, means an over-activity of the Autonomic Nervous System causing an abrupt onset of excessively high blood pressure. AD is a potentially life-threatening medical emergency that affects people with spinal cord injuries at the T6 level or higher. Although rare, some people with T7 and T8 injuries can develop AD.
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory illness that can spread from person to person. The virus that causes COVID-19 is a novel coronavirus that was first identified during an investigation into an outbreak in Wuhan, China.
